The last time we were talking about our purpose…and the next portion was to be on God’s plan for our lives! How exciting is it to know that God thinks of us and thought of our end before even we “began”! Therefore God knows the plans that He has for you…plan for…( I know you know this off head so let’s say it together….)
Jeremiah 10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
How relieving it is to know that we don’t have to wander around this earth: eating,sleeping,going to school,to work,getting married,retiring etc like billions of people are doing now! We were created for something GREATER THAN THAT! DO YOU BELIEVE SO?

On Purpose#part 2
Say this with me: “I was not born to sit on the couch, follow up on the latest series…get entertained as the people I’m watching get their pay.”
Don’t get me wrong…I have been an ardent follower of series…and if I count how many hours summed up into years that I’ve wasted being a potato couch….I’d rather not say…
Let’s delve into this very important matter. Purpose. What is your purpose here on earth? You are not a speck in the universe! You are very special to God- yes you! Even if everyone else thinks you are a nobody..ha ha that is their opinion….Ignore it! Allow me to use the line of thought I was going with last week. We were looking at Christ’s purpose here on earth. We all know why He came..but these verses explain it even further.
Luke 19:10: For the son of man is come to seek and save that which is Lost.(that’s the obvious one) He came to do the will of His Father, not His own! Every word that He spoke, was commanded by the Father!
John 12:49:(AMP) For I have never spoken on my own initiative or authority, but the Father Himself who sent me has given me a commandment regarding what to say and what to speak.
There was a man named Saul, and he was the persecuter of Christians. I wonder why he did that by the way. Maybe He had a troubled past, maybe he just had genuine hate for them…maybe he thought (however crazy this sounds) that it was his purpose…but whatever it is…made him the beast that he was. A terrible man. Here he was on his way to Damascus when something glorious happened! A light shone from the sky and he heard a voice speak…the very voice of God! asking him why he was persecuting Him(God)
Acts 26:15-16 And I said, who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee.” And with that….was the birth of Paul as we know him!
Isn’t it amazing? how one’s life can be changed in an instant? here was a man on his way to his usual destruction…a man who had done so many evil things but just like that- his life was changed! he got to know of His purpose!
Now, don’t be like this guy I was preaching to once who was saying he will receive Christ when and only when Christ will appear to him(what a dangerous way to think). Don’t be unwise.
So how do you know your purpose? how do you get to find it out?
I) Be bold and ask God to show you(and expect an answer)
II) Be spiritually alert(how? by praying in the spirit/tongues and constantly reading the Word of God) and it will be surely revealed unto you. (Haha I know it might not sound easy, but trust me. It is. )
Always remember this: the generic purpose of your life is to bring glory to God, to honor Him and to expand His kingdom. Therefore, in everything that you do always ask yourself,” Does this bring glory to God?” Always.

Purpose
Why was I created? What’s my purpose?……these are the questions that have bombarded my brain many times than I can remember and have led me to tears….tears of anger…of frustration…..but not any more.
If you have read my previous blog post on #The Grand Designer..you have a pretty good idea of the whole genesis of this story. I said that (according to a sermon by Pr Chris Ohyakilhome) that there are three things in life that if we become conscious of in life…we will never go wrong. They are: Purpose, Plan and Time.
When God does something, he doesn’t just wake up(okay, though He never sleeps) and do it. Everything He does has a PURPOSE…E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. He created man for a purpose…so that He may have fellowship with Him. He created the earth so that man could inhabit it…otherwise maybe we could be living in Heaven…or space…who knows?
Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it NOT IN VAIN, He formed it TO BE INHABITED: I am the Lord; and there is none else.
Even for Him to send Jesus to die for our sins..it was for a purpose. If you are like me…I know you have ever asked yourself, why didn’t God just erase the actions of Adam and Eve and just “pretend” that they hadn’t sinned…and all things gone back to normal? Yet He had to send His son to earth to die for us…Why? Again…purpose…and one of these days I will talk about Why Jesus had to die…
John 10:10 : The thief(devil) cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly(KJV) Yes! Jesus came because before that, we were dead! how? spiritually. He came that we might (notice He doesn’t say Shall…meaning that there is a condition for you to receive this life) have life and have it to the fullest! See, Jesus came to give us more than just life (by getting born again) He came so that we may have that life (spiritual re-union with the Father) and have everything else that pertains unto life!
Divine health, Prosperity, Money, Good success (coz there is bad success), Happiness, Peace, Healthy relationships….all that!
1 John 3:8: He that commiteth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, so that He might destroy the works of the devil
At this point you might be wondering why I haven’t gotten to the “depth” of success yet…haha my friend…the depth and very origin of success is from the Father….this is not a motivational blog it’s a spiritual one…a blog whose inspiration is the very Word of God….and dare I say..the Word works! It can never disappoint! Stay tuned….

The Grand Designer
When I was in Std( Grade)2 or 4..my best friend’s sister introduced me to this song….its only today that I have gotten to know it was done by Maranatha Singers( not sure if they are the original singers though)…so beautiful are the words! I am so blown away!
Before you were formed in your Momma’s womb..before even your mom and dad even met…you were already in God’s mind. He knew you, knew where you would live…your neighbors…your characteristics….wow how intimate our Creator is! Don’t you feel loved?

It is no mistake that you are who you are, have that body type that you do(okay unless you under or over eat), have the talents you got, were born into the family you are in…it’s no mistake! Even babies born out of one night stands are planned for! Of course Daddy didn’t want that to be your situation, heck! Your birth was still planned! That’s why ABORTION IS SIN! It’s WRONG!
We go through life many times wondering why we were born. If you are a born again Christian, you know that your BASIC PURPOSE IS TO BRING GLORY TO GOD AND TO EXPAND HIS KINGDOM- ALWAYS KEEP THAT IN MIND. If for instance you work in a bar, how does that bring glory to God? That’s not today’s topic…but whatever business you are in, even if you haven’t found your purpose, should meet the above requirements. No excuse.
In this three part series, we get to know our Purpose in life and it’s divided into 3 parts: Purpose, Plan and Timing. When you become conscious of these 3 things, you shall experience tremendous growth in your life! Are you excited? Coz I am!
Before we even begin this topic, it is very important that one recognizes their identity first. You can only recognize your identity once you recognize your source of origin. You did not just appear on earth…NO. We have our Creator. Don’t you wonder why,even after you have achieved your successes, gotten that car you wanted, the girl you wanted, the party or concert you were fighting to get in…it’s never enough? There is always that emptiness inside?
Trust me…I have been there…and sometimes I also do wander..you know when you are like..how is life outside what I know? It never works. That emptiness you feel CAN ONLY BE FILLED BY GOD. Not booze, sex, a boyfriend/ girlfriend, party, money, 1000 Instagram followers…..NO. YOU CAME FROM GOD AND TO HIM SHALL YOU RETURN (If you accept Him that is)
I will have you say this prayer down here because….you have to secure your salvation. Being a Christian ain’t enough. Loving God ain’t enough, it’s following His instructions that count…See this..
John 3:5 AMPC
5 Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and [[a]even] the Spirit, he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.
Romans 10:9-11 AMPC 9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Whoa! 18 days since my last post? unbelievable. In Jesus name I am self disciplined.
I have been analyzing myself and discovered one thing. I have made the wrong people my friends, my priority. See, there is nothing wrong with having friends, friends that you count on when things go wrong, who pray,laugh and cry with you. In fact…even the Bible encourages it.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”
We are stronger together. We all know that. The problem however comes when you over-rely on your friend and forget God’s role in your life. Like I said, I was thinking of myself and realized I had made that mistake, one too many times. In fact, that was the pre-cursor of most of the relationships I have been in(don’t look at me like that, they haven’t been too many haha) . I always found myself in a situation where I was in a rut, I had an issue that was at the moment very big, that I needed someone to help me walk with me. Harmless right?
I would share with this person and before I knew it..we were “together”. It was my therapy. The issue comes when that person is also going through a situation…who will help who? or when they disappoint you…and you get so mad at them and forget….we have The ONE who will never fail nor disappoint us.
When this year began,I challenged myself therefore…to always stop and pause before I rush to tell so and so my issues….it hasn’t been easy to be honest…coz you so badly want to share with someone your situation…but does it really help? if you have Godly friends like I do..they will pray with and for you…heck some will even sow a seed for you! Dear Lord!! *I thank God for my friends* However….I challenge you to learn to run to Him(Christ) first when you have an issue.
Let Him be your anchor, your go to person, your WCW your MCM…your bae lol….let Him be all that to you. Take everything and I mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G to Him in prayer and I know He CAN’T and WON’T disappoint. Take it from me…who is learning this ….even though I have been a Christian for so long….I am learning to run to Him FIRST!
As time progresses and even when the year ends…I will tell you of the testimonies of this new leap of faith for me.
Warning: This new direction will certainly make you a bit distant from your friends when they realize you don’t “over-share” like you used to….but I gurantee you it will be worth it. There is no use talking about your problems when you can solve them on your knees.

Inside out
There are two types of Christians: the carnal and the spiritual.
I was listening to Pastor Chris Ohyakilhome yesterday talking about “Being Spiritually minded”. He explained how there are two kinds of Christians. The carnal(led and moved by their senses) and the spiritual (who are led from the Spirit-from the inside out) A carnal Christian is one who when he feels a headache he says” I have a headache” while a Spiritual one…who knows according to Isaiah 53:5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. that HE CAN NOT BE SICK and so they REFUSE to recognize the headache.
Same goes to a scenario where a carnal Christian says “I am broke” while the Spiritual says ” I am very rich” and to everyone else, they seem crazy you know….how can you say you are rich when your bank account says zero? see….God wants us Christians to live by faith and not by sight. Don’t let your feelings control you. Just because you “feel sick” it doesn’t mean that you are! The moment you say “I am sick, I have a headache” you get it!
Look at this…Romans 1:17: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
I know someone right now might be reading this and wondering that I am crazy. A fanatic. I will tell you one thing for certain…if you allow yourself to live by your senses…that just because you feel sick you are actually sick, just because things are goung wrong in your life, you are defeated, just because your grandma had a certain disease that you believe is genetic….you will get it……my friend, you are a VICTIM. Choose to be a VICTOR!
Let me tell you…the the devil won’t one day say “Ooo poor Mary, she is really suffering…I should give her break”. It will never happen! Never Ever! You got to grab hold of the Wors and possess it! Keep speaking the Word of God over your life and REFUSE TO BE MOVED BY YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES!
This teaching brought to mind a time when I was watching the show “The Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” with my sister and I kept wondering…why are these people who clearly aren’t born again..living the life that I want to? flying from country from country..shopping till they drop lol…vacations are like a daily thing to them. Somewhere deep in my heart…I felt saddened
Yes. at that point I was thinking carnally…..I agree. But the point I wanna bring out is, how we shouldn’t envy the wicked. Don’t see celebrity X, Y or Z doing certain things and you wonder how come they seem to have their lives easy? while you go on tithing, and giving God your first fruits and what not…..Don’t give up! You have no idea the treasures you are heaping upon yourself! And the Word says, I john 5:11-12:And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
I will leave it at that for now. Now anyone who isn’t born again….you have to receive Christ TODAY and TOMORROW. Being born again is so simple and yet so important. Once you get born again, you receive ETERNAL LIFE, the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God! TICKET TO HEAVEN, you become BORN INTO THE VICTORIOUS LIFE(no more being a victim)
Romans 10:9-11″ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Say this after me:
“Dear Lord, I believe that you sent your son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I believe that He dies and resurrected. Today, I accet you as the Lord and Savior of my life. I also invite the Holy Spirit into my heart. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
If you have said this prayer! You are now a NEW CREATION! Congratulations!

The 7th Day of August 2012
I was silent. No excuses. No more “logical” explanations.My heart was longing for more…yearning…and in the nick of time, I would have it.
They didn’t attack me as such, but at that moment in time, it was enough. After a lot of compelling information about why I shouldn’t be a catholic{taking into account all the un-bibilical practices found in it}. It was time.
The loudest of the group{sorry Gashungwa} asked me the question. Are you ready to be born again? I paused. The room was silent. My chest was exploding. Haha it seems dramatic, but if you had believed in something all your life and suddenly want to step out of the curtains that you stood behind, you would get what I’m trying to say. It’s like a crazy shy girl being asked to dye her hair orange, or moments before a guy tells the crush of his life how he has “loved” her since time immemorial, or how a woman who has hidden the truth from her hubby of 40 years of how one of her babies isn’t his…you get the drill?…it was crazy, scary, heart wrenching…it was all that.
So I took a moment. Stepped out into the night. I clutched onto the rosary that I had held so dear,the rosary that had been gifted to me by my grandmother and looked at the chewed cross at the end{I had a bad habit of chewing plastics and pencils}. I walked right next to the chapel, as the sound of the screaming girls in the hall faded in the background. The night was calm, yet evil in its own dark way. I looked up to the heavens. Prayed and for a moment…felt as if unseen eyes were watching me..lurking…and with that eerie feeling, I tossed the rosary away into the bushes and walked{half ran} back to the prayer room.
When I got back, the girls seemed shaken. You see, before I left the room we had gotten into intense prayer and one of the leaders had mentioned that they felt an ‘evil’ presence within the room..then almost immediately I had slept out of the room. Haha I later came to learn that they had thought that I {precious, saintly me} had been the evil presence in the room haha… I mean I had chosen the perfect time to walk out hadn’t I ?
With that, I told them I was ready. I received Christ in my life..alongside my dear sister Louis Chiku{shout out to you girl}. We later went to our dorms when our “party” was over but that eerie feeling still followed me deep into the night.
The next morning however…I felt joy untold! I was in my own bubble of happiness1 There has never been a day that I felt that Joy…it was exciting…refreshing…I felt renewed! reborn! Now, I can’t guarantee the same “feeling” for everyone who receives Christ because, this is a Spiritual rebirth…you can’t feel it physically, but there can be only one story teller so…

Enough is Enough
By now a lot of you are thinking I’m gonna bad mouth them… No I won’t. Now…where was I ? Oh yes! Miss goody two shoes here had the work cut out for her and may I just say what a burden it was! You know, when you constantly think that it’s your work to “save”people and “correct” them..damn! It’s so hard because you know what? If they don’t have the Holy Spirit in them, who is able to correct them from the inside out, your work is null and void. You will spend your time hating on people and feeling good about yourself…and that, trust me, has no good in it.
Now, as deep as I was into my religion. I felt alone. I felt as though God was silent, as if every time I prayed, my prayers weren’t enough. I felt empty. No matter how many times I would pray the rosary, or go to mass, or do A,B,C I still didn’t feel as if I quite had the relationship with God. I remember how so many days I spent crying in the chapel, asking God to hear me and answer me…but still…He was silent,or at least I thought He was.
The most confusing time came when somebody distributed some booklets of a Mexican girl *Angelica who had apparently ‘died’, went to heaven and hell and ‘came back to tell the world’ the truth about roman catholicism. No, Im not that easy that something like that would sway me,,,,haha but at that point in time, I was so lost,lonely and confused,(sorry,couldn’t get another ‘L’ word haha) that when I read that booklet,my faith was even shakier than ever.
So how did I get to convert you ask? it was around the time of confusion that I made an unexpected friend,,,unexpected because she was someone I never thought we could be compatible in a hundred years! haha so anyway this lady or chic as we used to say in my hay days lol…had recently gotten born again and was receiving quite the opposition from people coz….let’s just say people were used to the old her.
It so happened that on the day before we were closing school, we had this awesome beauty pageant and you know how these things are..no one wants to miss them! Well, we did. I didn’t want to be tempted to sing secular songs,and neither did she…and guess what? there were 9 other girls who felt the same! (mainly CU leaders)
So there we were in a room, i guess it was a reserved prayer room(damn! that place was the only one in the whole school where you could feel at home you know?) We gathered in that room, armed to the tooth with snacks from the school canteen: Nuvitas, milk, soda, bread…it was quite the party! A lot of these chics were people I knew,,,but didn’t interact with as such.
There we were..11 Form 4 Godly ladies…note. we were 11 the 12 was Jesus in our midst *smile*. I wish I had a photo of us…I would have put it here *sigh* . The day quickly flew by, with us chattering about everything under the sun! From God,to food, to boys, to our personal lives…wow! It’s quite amazing how this bond grew so quickly in a day!
Then came night. You know,,it’s funny how the night brings with it spooky stories huh? So anyway…I was the only catholic in the midst, and I guess this was bound to happen anyway. We had been talking on and on about so many things…and then came the creepy and disturbing stories about the catholic church, why they pray through Mary{when clearly 1 Timothy 2:3-6,emphasis on v.5 says
3For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time
Why they have statues of people in church when Exodus 20:3-4 says….Thou shalt have no other gods before me.4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Why did saint so and so die just after meeting Mary…
For the first time in 18 years. I had no answer for them. No defense. No excuse. No logical explanation…{to be continued}
